V. Mignanelli & Sons, located at 418 Maple Street in Warwick, Rhode Island, has been in business since 1945, creating one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted furniture and restoring pieces to their original beauty.

Victor Mignanelli started the family business after moving to America from Italy in 1920. He was a tremendously talented man who could do anything with a piece of wood. Victor made a banjo shaped clock out of curly maple wood with gold leaf and brass trimming, which was originally made for President John F. Kennedy. The President never got to enjoy this beautiful piece because sadly, he was assassinated before its completion. However, the piece was delivered and acknowledged by the President’s brother in a letter to Victor thanking him for his work and admiring his talents.

Victor’s son, Joseph Roland, was also born with the talent to build, refinish, and repair just about any piece of furniture. Roland, who is in his 90s, still works part time in the shop, along with his youngest son, Ron, and his grandson, Ron Jr., now the fourth generation to carry on the family legacy.

Ron loves what he does, and he does it well. His talent, bestowed on him from both his father and grandfather, has garnered a large following over the years. The Mignanellis now work with third and fourth generations of families that have appreciated the true workmanship, knowledge, and personal care that is given to each and every piece of furniture they take in.

The Mignanelli team has had the privilege of working on many unique projects over the years, including blockbuster films like The Game Plan, Underdog, and 27 Dresses. They have also repaired and refinished furniture for luxury locations like Weekapaug Inn and the Ocean House in Watch Hill, and touch up work on a 200-foot yacht, Samadhi.

“This family will take your most prized possession and restore it perfectly. No matter the condition. They are the best.”
